To Do List

Spring Break is in full swing at our house and my kids are loving every minute of it. Except for the fact that their awesome mom scheduled check-ups with the doctor and dental appointments this week. But that is the way it goes here.

Because we are so busy here I have become a little bit of a list maker to help me remember everything that I need to do each day. I have seen some awesome ideas out there, but today I am going to share what works for me.

To make these are simple. I started with a legal pad and had the store cut it to my desired width. Each one was a little bit different. The guy must have been new because he made a few mistakes cutting and so he only charged me for 2 cuts and then gave me a discount on the legal pads.

Supplies:
legal pad
cardstock
embellishments
magnet
cutter and glue
scoring blade
They are all roughly about 2 1/2 inches in width and then I kept the original length. In hindsight I would have gotten shorted notepads, but oh well.
I then took a sheet of 12 x 12 cardstock and cut it into strips a quarter inch larger then my notepads width.
You will need 2 strips for one to do list. I then glued the two pieces together like shown below.
I then cut the length to be 14 1/2 inches. I basically just eyeballed what I thought would look good and used that measurement.
You will then want to score your paper at 12 inches and 12 1/4 inches. This will help it fold over the top of the notepad.
Apply your choice of glue and glue paper to the back, top, and small top part on the front of the notepad. Be sure not to glue to the first sheet of paper, because you want to still be able to tear the pieces off.
Then I added a little something to the part that was folded over the top.
I made a lot of these, because I cut up about 6 legal pads. I am going to give these to my friends as birthday presents this year.
I then added a magnet on the back so that you can stick this to the fridge.
And Voila! You have a super cute and useful pad for your to do list.
I use mine all the time, and I love how easy it is to tear off the paper and take it to the store!

  3. I always have the magnet fall off the lists I buy at the store. Now I can make my own, and cuter too! So awesome. Thank you for linking at the beagle.
